The 10% Solution

In chemistry, a mild acid is used to dissolve corrosions and blockages to the channels of flow. The acid reaches places that physical means just can't easily reach. It seeps into the very bottom of the deposits, loosens them, and dissolves them, leaving a clean and clear surface. Freeing material from corrosion and deposits gives greater life to the material, less friction, more efficient and flexible use, greater luminescence and make it more attractive and easier to maintain.

A similar chemicalization takes place when an individual defines himself or herself as guided and governed by spiritual law. Such a definition is a new personal identity. It is not lip service. It is not just an idea the old you is having. From the change in identity actions follow which are expressions of the new being. For awhile the new being has to struggle with old habits and fears. These are the corrosions and deposits of the old thinking. Chipping away at them, day by day, is slow going and keeps you involved with them for longer than is really necessary.

People who like results will use more efficient means. They will apply the “10% solution” of tithing to the organizations and individuals who teach, inspire and manifest the spiritual principles that govern their lives. The purpose of tithing is what it does for you. It doesn't matter if the organization or individual “needs” it or not. Tithing is a means of dissolving the old and rigid thinking of fear and lack, and it does it immediately because it defines you as a “have” rather than as a “have not”. It impresses your own psyche with the idea that all of your needs are already met by and through God. You identify yourself with abundance and wholeness. What you accept, you receive.

Next, tithing creates a flow, a demand, an activation of the law of cause and effect. What you nurture in Spirit is returned to you tenfold, a hundred fold, a thousand fold and more. Your givingness to your spiritual source is a declaration of your acceptance of God giving to you all that you need. And finally, tithers receive a greater abundance, more than is needed, because the gift honors the presence of God in your life, and to do so opens the windows of heaven bringing opportunities, rewards, healings and financial freedom.

Add to that, that those who live using spiritual principles like tithing live longer, age slower, sleep better have fewer insecurities, happier relationships, less stress and better sex, and you know why it is written, “Seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and all else shall follow.”

Too scary? Try this: today, increase your gift to your church, spiritual center or teacher by 10%. That is, if you would usually give $10, give $11. If you were going to give $20, give $22 and so on. Next week, add another 10%. The $11 dollars would become $12.10; the $22 would become $24.20. Each week, add another 10%.

See what happens in your life. You will be amazed at how quickly the 10% solution transforms, inspires and prospers you! All your giving will be returned to you multiplied 10 fold, 100 fold, 1000 fold or more! It will get easier to give because you will be receiving so much. And, of course, you could go faster than this and decide to give 5% of your gross income or a full 10% or even more. Wealthy people give away significant amounts of money because they know that more will always flow to them and that all of their needs are met. You become wealthy by taking on the consciousness of abundance and flow. Try tithing to open up your capacity to receive all the good that God has for you. It is so much more than you have ever dreamed possible!
