members and friends include those who come from as far
away as San Francisco and Sacramento to be part of our
dynamic church community. Members financially support the
church whether they are in attendance or not, to assure
the ongoing growth and availability of the ministry.
--------------------------------New
members are taken into our Church in April, August,
October, and December. It is suggested that visitors and
new friends attend for at least three months and take the
Foundation Class or other basic classes before applying
for membership. An application for membership is
available at the church and will soon be available
on-line. Members of other Religious Science churches who
wish to transfer membership must request this from their
Minister and provide the name and address of their
previous Religious Science church.
------------------The Center for Spiritual Living is governed by a six
person Board of Trustees with the Minister serving as an
ex-officio (non-voting) member. Each member serves for
three years with two members going off each year and
replaced with those elected at the annual meeting in
October. Each Board Member has an area of oversight,
called a portfolio, for the orderly working of the
church. Individuals are eligible to serve on the Board if
they have:
- successfully completed Science of Mind I or the
Foundation Class
- are members in good standing with the church
- are practicing the principles in their lives
- are elected by the membership at the annual
meeting
---------------------------Tithing of 10% of
all income is a spiritual principle which we teach and
encourage to keep God first in our lives and to develop
the consciousness of abundance. Tithing does not require
a fixed amount, but represents a relationship, a
partnership with the Divine. It is a simple and effective
means of healing financial difficulties. Contributions
may be mailed to the church office at P.O. Box 2694,
Fairfield, CA 94533.
